Parties at Tūranga

We have a minimum cost of $110 for parties, which includes up to ten children and two adults.

Extra children are $10 each.

Extra adults are $3 each.

These prices include exclusive use of party space for 1 hour 45 minutes and a staff member to assist with your party.

If you are paying via credit/debit card or PayPal, we require payment in full at the time of booking. If you would prefer to pay by EFTPOS or bank transfer, this is possible, you'll just need to give us a call. Bookings will be be confirmed once a deposit of $110 (the minimum party cost) is received. Any remaining balance of payment is due by 5pm on the Thursday before your party).

Location

Our birthday parties are held in the 'Creative Space' on Hapori | Community (level one) in Tūranga - Christchurch City Center Library.

Time slots

We offer birthday parties during the following time slots:
Saturdays: 10.00am - 11.45am and 12.15pm - 2.00pm
Sundays: 10.00am - 11.45am and 12.15pm - 2.00pm

Extra Activities

Each of our add-on activities give you the opportunity to make your party more unique, more memorable and more engaging. All add-on activities happen during your allocated party timeslot.

Challenge Zone
40 minutes of LEGO challenges and games for children aged 7 and over.
+$50 for up to 20 children.

Junior Challenge Zone
20 minutes of LEGO challenges and games for children.
+$30 for up to 20 children.

Stop-Motion Animation Party
75 minute class of Stop Motion for children aged 8 and over.
+$100 for up to 12 children. (Subject to confirmation of availability of a suitable space.)

LEGO Technic Motors
75 minute class to build a remote controlled car or other Technic contraptions with our Technic pieces, for children aged 8 and over.
+$80 for up to 12 children. (Subject to confirmation of availability of a suitable space.)

We can guarantee space for up to 20 people. However, we don’t have a set capacity restriction on the number of attendees at an Imagination Station birthday party as we can book larger spaces at Tūranga when they are available. If you are planning a large party, we advise getting in touch so we can check that a suitable space is available before you book

In a standard booking, the party area is set aside for your group for one hour and forty-five minutes. Ask us if you’d like to customize a longer event.

This can be decided when you book and revised on the day. A general idea is this:

• 10.00 – Arrival, welcoming and play in the LEGO areas.
  
• 10.30 – Food! Cake!
  
• 11.00 – More LEGO play time.
  
• 11.45 – Finish up, take extra food, drink, etc. with you! If you would like to stay and play after your party finishes, you are welcome to continue to do so in our play area.

Yes please! You can bring any cold food and non-alcoholic beverages you wish to your party. Library policy prevents you from brining hot food into Tūranga. Don't forget a knife for the cake and a lighter for the candles!

All the spaces we use for parties have a sink and bench. We cannot guarantee any facilities for heating and chilling food, and we cannot offer catering at this time.

Absolutely, we would love it if you brought decorations to make the party table extra special. Please remember to take these with you afterwards, unless you would like to donate them to our party decoration supplies.

Decorations must not be fixed to any of the wall surfaces in Tūranga. We will provide a happy birthday sign for the wall, a LEGO cake stand, and your child's name spelled out in LEGO letters.

And miss all the party fun??? No, we need adults to be actively supervising children playing at Imagination Station, and we aim for a ratio of 1 adult to 8 children at parties.

If you cancel more than 7 days prior to your party, we can offer you a full refund, minus a $20 administration fee. If you cancel with less than 7 days notice, we are unable to issue a refund. If the circumstances are beyond your control (e.g. illness, accident, earthquake, etc.), we will work with you to find a solution, such as postponement to another date or a credit for a future party. We are not able to refund you if children do not show up to your party.
